Hello everyone and welcome to Bergsdesigns’ first blog post!

When people first see the bergs3in1 bag their first reaction is”how does it work?” and upon discovering the most common comment is “how clever!” So I’ve decided to start by answering this very question.

Bergs3in1 bag petrol.

The bergs3in1 is, as the name says, a bag that transforms from one form to another then to another and back: three bags in one. And it’s very easy to do once you know how!

So let’s take it step by step:
First faze is the tote bag. Take it out of the package and it looks like this. Now what you can do is use it as a hand bag or a shoulder bag by adjusting the straps. To feel comfortable adjust both straps by the same length.

Second faze is a spacious shopping bag. The zip that extends the bag is traversing it horizontally just under the ‘bergs’ logo. You’ll find the slider at the back, pull it all around in a circle motion and don’t forget to separate the two parts of the zipper to allow the material inside to unfold.

Third faze is the piece de resistance: the wheelie bag. Oh yes, it has wheels! How many times did you get into a shop to buy a couple bits and went out with 2 full bags? I know I did and I wished there was a little trolley available to carry everything rather than struggle with the weight all the way home.
So the wheels are on the bottom. Turn the bag on the side and you’ll see at the base a strip of fabric that follows it around forming a rectangular shape. Fold that strip of fabric back to reveal another zip. Unzip it and simply unfold the wheels until they click in place.

All there’s left to do is folding the overlap fabric onto itself and insert it into the little pocket between the wheels so it doesn’t get in the way. Before leaving don’t forget to check the length of the straps: too short and it may be uncomfortable, too long it drags on the pavement and it may get damaged.
And that’s it: wheel away!

Now how to fold it back to faze one the tote bag? First turn it bottom up then take out the cover fabric from the little pocket between the wheels. Then if you look closely on each wheel’s plastic support there is a ‘Push’ sign with an arrow. That’s because the wheels click in place when opened and remain fixed so they won’t close on their own while in use. To fold them first push the wheel back in the arrow’s direction and then fold it. Place the cover over and zip it all around. For a nicer look unfold the strip of fabric to cover the zip.
For the circle zipper take the slider at the back and connect it to the other side of the zip. It’s a lot easier if you think about it like you would zip a jacket: exactly the same system only horizontal instead of vertical. I find it more comfortable to pull the slider and push the extra fabric in as I go but experiment and find your best way of doing it!
